Almost 900,000 people on low incomes have registered for government welfare according to the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, the Government Savings Bank and Krung Thai Bank.

This is the second registration, which began on Monday and will run until the 15th of May.

Low income earners with less than 100,000 baht income a year were invited to register with expectations of around five million people coming forward.

Only unemployed or people with a low income can apply and they must be Thai nationals.
