This year’s winner is half-Thai, half-Swedish, 25-year-old model MareeyaPoonlertlarpEhren, who beat the other beauty’s to the crown at the Siam Paragon Hall on Saturday night, July 30, to be crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2017.

Standing 183cm tall this year’s winner wowed judges being fluent in four languages –Thai, Swedish, English and Mandarin and is a postgrad in marketing as well as being a model for 10 years.

Not only did she receive the all-important title and a diamond tiara she also picked up a cool million baht in cash and a brand new car and will now go on to represent Thailand in the International Miss Universe 2017 pageant which will take place in Las Vegas later this year.

SupapornLitiphruek was the runner up and she received 500,000 baht for her efforts.

ChalitaSuansane, last year’s Miss Universe Thailand’s winner was on hand to help present the diamond tiara to the new winner.

Chalita made it into the top six in last year’s International Miss Universe competition which is Thailand best result since winning the pageant in 1988 when PorntipNakhirankanok won the title of Miss Universe.

Hopefully Mareeya will be able to emulate Porntips success and take the crown in Las Vegas come November.
