Masks were given to women at hospital who were embarrassed about getting a Pap Smear test
Women at a hospital in Kamphaeng Phet were given the opportunity to wear a green mask if they felt embarrassed about getting the normal health check.
A pap smear is a procedure to test for cervical cancer for women between 30-70, it involves collecting cells with a small brush from the cervix, you can expect to receive your results after a few weeks.
These type of tests can detect abnormal cells that have the potential to transform into cervical cancer, women should not be worried if they have abnormal test results, as it does not necessarily mean you have cervical cancer.
The masks were a success as many turned up to get their free tests, women do not have to feel self-conscious or uneasy when visiting their doctor.
