Gonzalez, 29, was undefeated in 46 fights before meeting Srisaket, who was considered a massive underdog before the fight began. Disappointed Gonzalez, called for an immediate rematch, stating he believed he won the contest.

The Nicaraguan won the title in September 2016 against Mexican Carlos Cuadras and was defending his title for the first time against the Thai man. Incidentally, Cuadras won against Srisaket in 2014 due to a technical decision.

The Thai boxer will now consider his options before entering the ring to defend his title. He could give Gonzalez a rematch or take on one of the challengers instead.

Srisaket has held the belt before, defeating Yota Sato of Japan in 2013 before relinquishing the title to Cuadras.

A parade is planned for the “champ” in his home town of Tambon Tae in Sisaket.

Love Pattaya would like to wish the WBC world super flyweight champion the very best for the future.
