Yesterday Love Pattaya reported the story of a young nurse from the Northeast of Thailand who was involved in a horrific accident which resulted in her being launched from her stationary motorbike some 30 meters down the road when a speeding car hit her from behind.
Today it has been reported that 23-year-old Patchanok Poynork is recovering well and even sitting up in bed following the accident, her condition has been hailed as miraculous by many that viewed the video of the horrific accident after it was posted online.
Patchanok a nurse working at the Nong Bua Lamphu hospital was launched roughly 30 meters down the road having been hit by Wannapatsorn Lakun’s Nissan at speed while waiting at traffic lights.
Patchanok was initially taken to the hospital where she works but was then transferred to Udon Hospital where yesterday she was able to answer questions though was said to be in a slightly dazed state.
Doctors said that the young nurse had to undergo surgery on her spleen which was badly damaged in the accident and she suffered bruising to much of her body, they noted that there was no sign of any brain damage, Patchanok was wearing a crash helmet when the accident occurred.
Wannapatsorn the driver of the Nissan involved in the accident told officers that she attempted to apply her brakes but they did not work, officers have since charged her with negligent driving causing serious injury.
Many people online who viewed the footage of the incident were quick to criticise bystanders who seemed more interested in the damage to the car than helping the badly injured young woman.
