12-year-old ask media to track down mum so he can travel to the UK to play football

It’s now a race against time for one football mad 12-year-old here in Thailand who has appealed to the media for help finding his mother so he can realize his dream and travel to the UK to take part in a two-week-long football training camp with former Premier League Champions Leicester City.

After generating a lot of attention on Thai social media it now looks like Chaisak Thongchan’s mother has been located however she has just three days to sign the relevant papers to allow the young lad to obtain a passport in time to travel to the camp.

Young Chaisak is cared for by his aunt Wichuda after being abandoned by his mother and father when he was a baby, he has not seen either parent since.

He is now in need of his mother 41-year-old Saowapha Himthong’s permission to obtain the passport and travel to England.

Chaisak was one of 30 football mad kids from five southern provinces selected out of 500 applicants to attend the training camp at Leicester City who are owned by King Power a Thai based company.

Things are looking positive for the lad after his mother was tracked down by Thai Rath after he made his emotional plea to the media, she was found living in Bo Phut in Koh Samui.

Hopefully the relevant documents will get signed in time to allow young Chaisak to travel to the UK and take part in the training camp.

Since posting his appeal Chaisak’s story has gone viral on social media with many commenting with wishes of support for the football mad youngster.
