Atthaya Thitikul, 14, from Thailand has become the youngest player to win a Ladies European Thailand Championship tournament after a victory in Pattaya.
Atthaya aged 14 years, four months and 19 days won the tournament by a two-stroke margin and became the youngest victor of the competition.
Previously the youngest winner on the tour was New Zealander Ko who won the 2013 New Zealand open at age 15 and from that success later became world number one until Ariya Jutanugarn took the number one spot last month.
Atthaya claimed victory on Sunday at the Phoenix Country Club with a score of five-under 283.
At the moment the young golfer is still an amateur and said she won’t turn pro for a few years as she still needs more experience.
She said she got into golf at age six after her father told her to play a sport and decided on golf after she watched it on television and decided she liked the look of it.
A great victory for a player with a bright future ahead of her.
