A letter found near the scene allegedly links the explosion to German involvement in the fight against terrorism, in particular ISIS.
The letter, reportedly written in German, began: “In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.”
Consideration is also given that the letter could be an attempt to deceive or mislead investigators. Until the letter is verified, the blame is still open for discussion.
A second letter is also being examined, which claims the bomb was in response to the clubs soft approach towards neo-Nazi and racist fans.
There were three explosions in total, one of which resulted in the a Spanish international Marc Bartra breaking his wrist.
The incident happened as the bus was heading for the Dortmund’s Champions League quarter-final encounter with French club Monaco at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday evening.
The game was cancelled and rescheduled for today at 17:45 BST.
Big hearted club Monaco have offered their fans 80 Euros towards the additional nights accommodation.
