Kunlavut Vitidsarn, 16, has made badminton history by becoming the first person from Thailand to win the BWF World Junior Championships boy’s singles title, after staging a comeback to defeat Jun Hao Leong from Malaysia (17-21) (21-15) (21-10) at the competition in Yogyakarta in Indonesia Yesterday (October 22.)

Currently Thailand’s number one seed, his latest victory provided some payback having previously been beaten by his rival from Malaysia twice before.

This was Kunlavut’s second title having won the Asian Championships under 17’s title in Yangon earlier in October.
