14 million devices have been infected with a new dangerous form of malware which has been called CopyCat.
The malware has already made over 1 million dollars through fake advertising revenue.
The malware is infecting devices through third party app stores and phishing attacks, where the highest number of devices have been infected being in Southeast Asia.
CopyCat is able to infect as many devices as it has due to lying dormant after it is downloaded until the phone is restarted then it activates and gains root access to the devise, making it very hard to remove.
If CopyCat finds its way onto your device it infects a process known as Zygote which then installs unauthorised apps on the equipment.
Experts estimate that the malware campaign has generated $1.5 million so far.
Experts are advising customers to update their software to the latest version of Android and to never download apps from third party app stores.
