Prizes are there for the taking as the Finance Ministry are hoping to make a huge impact on the e-payments policy, they want people to start getting into the habit of using less cash in exchange for using debit cards.
This is one of few projects to promote the policy, debit card users will be picked at random from data that is collected from retail stores.
Customers must pay for services or goods with a debit card through an EDC machine.
This campaign will last for twelve months starting from June, anyone using there debit cards in May will automatically be in with a chance of winning.
The consumers who spend the most on there debit cards will be in with the chance to win one million baht each month, where as the other prizes for consumers that don’t spend quite as much can expect to receive prizes from 2,000 baht to 100,000 baht.
The first winners of the scheme will be announced on the 16th of June, and then the same for each month after that for twelve months.
