Facebook is about to tackle the age old problem of “fake” news being spammed across it users pages.

A planned advert will be presented to users’ news feed, providing advice on how to spot fake news and report it.

However, experts are not convinced that it will have any real impact stating that until Facebook stops rewarding the creators of fake news with high volumes of traffic, the problem will only get worse.

Fourteen countries are being targeted by Facebook but alas Thailand isn’t one of them.

It is surprising how many people believe some of the dross that is put on Facebook.

How many share posts such as “We have 1000 new iPhone 7s to give away. Simply like and share our page for a chance to win” for example?

Fake news and free giveaways are a nuisance to say the least.
