“Police iLert You” smart phone app now helps Pattaya tourists and residents to instantly connect with the police in emergency situation.
Tourists coming to Pattaya can immediately load the app on their phone once they are through the immigration checkpoints and roam the city carefree.
The problem of overloaded hotline number 191 can now be altered by “Police iLert You” app which helps as an alternative solution.
The app introduced in August 2013 by The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, providing emergency medical assistance was tested first with the National Institute for Emergency Medicine, Thai Airways International, Advanced Info Service and Bangkok Hospital’s network.
Though the app gained widespread popularity in 2015, being easily available in the Google and Apple app stores yet remained unsupported by the Pattaya authorities.
Pattaya Police Station is now in full support of the software, reported the Chonburi police chief, Pol. Maj. Gen. Nantachart Suppamongkol and his Pattaya counterpart, Pol. Col. Apichai Kroppech.
