Sweat-Powered radio could signal the end of having to charge your devises.
At the moment smart watches and fitness trackers are all the rage but all have one fundamental flaw, they have to be removed in order to charge them.
This often leads to people forgetting to charge there devise and it running out mid workout which can be annoying.
The University of California, San Diego, USA has a demonstrated a new Sweat-powers strip about 2cm in width that can be used to power a Bluetooth Low Energy radio for several days.
Jonathan Wang, Professor and Chair of the Department of Nanoengineering said “Here we use sweat as a source of biofuel.”
At the moment it’s not clear exactly how much sweat would be needed to power a larger devise such as a phone or watch.
The project is in its early stages but the potential future implications are exciting especially if you live in a warm climate where sweating isn’t difficult.
