Daily Newspapers in the UK have ran a Facebook advert providing a list of ten things to be aware of when determining if a story is authentic or not.
The press includes The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Times.
Facebook will continue this trend in a worldwide attempt at reducing fake news.
Items to watch for according to Facebook are the date of the post, the website’s URL and checking that it isn’t posted as a joke.
Facebook have already removed tens of thousands of fake accounts and insist they have systems in place that can monitor repeat postings, featuring the same content, a ploy often used by spammers.
Think before you share things folks. Not everything you read on Facebook is true.
