A new high speed undersea cable system is being put in place to help boost the internet capacity in the nation.
The new cable which stretches 25,000 kilometres has a 100GBPS capacity and will link up with 21 similar cables throughout Europe and Asia.
The cable network will join 21 countries together when complete starting in Marseille, France and finishing in Hong Kong.
The project is expected to bring up to 40 Terabits of capacity to the region in a time where demand for media streaming and internet usage has never been higher.
The project was announced by Indian telecommunications firm Reliance Jio, Thailand’s consortium partner on the project.
