Watching the Premier League on devices such as Kodi boxes and other illegal online streaming sites is going to get a lot harder starting from next season
The Premier League has announced that they have obtained a court order that will make streaming their games illegally much more difficult from the start of the 2017/2018 season.
The have stated that this is the “biggest ever crackdown” on unlawful streaming sites to date.
The action will allow the Premier League to block servers that host streams that are being broadcast by licensed providers such as Sky and BT.
The move comes after a rise in sites that offer streams for people to view the matches without paying.
While Kodi boxes are completely legal it’s the third party modifications that allow viewers to watch copyrighted content like live sports for free which then make them illegal.
The new Premier League season kicks off on August 12.
