Living in Thailand you can be treated to some strange sites sometime as one British expat discovered when he went to leave his house in Pattaya and was greeted by the sight of a snake and a gecko locked in a fight to the death.
Danny Batchelor, 54, who filmed the footage of the “Mexican standoff” between the golden tree snake and the Tokay gecko couldn’t resist trying to break the pair up when he found the fight happening on November 9.
The snake appeared to be winning at first wrapping itself around the lizard in an attempt to suffocate it, however the feisty gecko wasn’t going down without a fight having locked its jaws around the snake as well.
Not wanting to let nature take its course Danny steps in to untangle the pair despite his worried wife’s cries that the snake might bite him.
Danny reassures her that while the snake might bite him it’s only mildly venomous and not harmful to humans.
After untangling the snake and eventually persuading the gecko to stop biting the snake the pair were separated and both survived the ordeal and Danny and his wife could continue on with their day.
