Ladies are you struggling to find something to wear for that important event or dinner party coming up? Then why not try the latest prize winning costume.
Which took a Latin American show by storm – The trendy Durian Dress.
Model Thaweeporn ‘Aoom’ Phingchamrat, 20, displayed her winning costume at the Best National Costume event at Miss United Continents 2017 pageant, which took place in Ecuador.
Many of us know that durian can be a rather tasty fruit but is often accompanied by a foul odour that puts many people off eating the popular Thai delicacy. But the dress did not raise a stink when it won the best national costume on Monday.
This certainly takes fashion to a new dimension, when your winning dress is made from fruit. But not any fruit like oranges or apples but the spiky durian, which must have raised eyebrows when the model entered the arena.
Featuring the sharp thorny exterior and the pulp from inside the fruit, the dress was finished off with a sprinkling of gold durian flowers.
Aoom, has had a successful year in her modelling career, winning Miss Grand Chanthaburi and finishing as one of the runners-up in the Miss Grand Thailand contest too. However, even she must have been surprised when her durian dress came out on top of her latest competition.
We sincerely hope the dress makers managed to mask the smell from the durian and of course congratulate everyone involved in their success.
