Officers of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau arrested four men on Thursday morning after they allegedly sold marijuana online and mailed it their customers in sealed plastic packaging to prevent detection.
Police initially arrested two brothers Mak Watcharakiatsopon, 24, and Saknarin Watcharakiatsopon, 27, who they found in the possession of 15.7 kilogrammes of marijuana.
Officers then apprehended their alleged accomplices Adisak Misakul, 19, and Parinya Tacharoenmuang, 19, where officers found them with 1,052 yaba pills, a gun and two bullets.
Superintendent Pol Lt-Colonel Thitisan Uthanapol said that the operation was part of a several month-long probe into a gang selling drugs via social media.
He said Saknarin and Mak were taken into custody as they attempted to take 10 kilos of marijuana in sealed parcels to Bangkok’s Sai Mai Post office, when officers searched their home they later found a further 5.7 kilos of marijuana.
The pair’s alleged accomplices were arrested in a house in the Klong Sam Wa district of Bangkok.
