Police issued a 500 baht fine to the driver of a pickup truck in Bangkok after he failed to move out of the way of an ambulance last month.
And stated that any motorist who fails to yield the right of way to emergency vehicles will meet the same fate.
Police learned of the incident after a video was circulated on social media.
The driver of the pickup has since apologised and payed the fine but has lost his job as a result of the incident.
Pol Lt Colonel Pawat Wattanasupat told reporters that the fine was issued on August 17 and reiterated that the law to yield way to emergency vehicles has been in place for some time and all motorists should be aware of it.
Pawat said the delivery driver tried to defend his actions saying he had load music playing in his truck and did not heat the ambulances sirens or horns.
