Typhoon Doksuri has resulted in widespread flooding across Phuket and a landslide in Kamala, after the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issued a severe weather warning.
Between the hours of 7am and 10am this morning at least 80mm of rainfall inundated Phuket Town and nearby areas.
Major roads in and out of Phuket town and surrounding areas were heavily flooded resulting in traffic delays according to The Phuket News.
An official from the TMD at Phuket International Airport said that the severe weather conditions were likely to continue until Monday (September 18).
The heavy rains are a result of Typhoon Doksuri which is moving across the South China Sea.
Areas that are likely to be affected along the Andaman Coast include, Phang Nga, Krabi, Ranong, Trang ans Satun.
Ships in the area are also being advised to exercise extra caution as waves are expected to reach 2-3 metres in height and smaller boats should remain ashore.
