A video was posted online showing Pattaya tourist police going to a construction site in Pattaya and arresting fourteen illegal workers from China

The operation led by local police chief Piyapong Ensarn detained the workers after officers went onto the site and could be heard shouting “Stop! Stop!” in Thai, the workers seemed confused and were unable to respond to questions in either Thai or English.

The raid happened at a site on Pattaya third road near Panit Chang, where they were building a new restaurant.

Police discovered that man called Long Ling, 41, was in charge and took him away for questioning ahead of being deported.

Mr Ling told authorities that he had hired the workers in January and was paying them 300 yuan (1500 baht) a day to carry out the work.
