The governor of Krabi, Pol Lt-Colonel ML Kitibodhi Prawit accompanied by local authorities and representatives from the Krabi Red Cross Society paid a visit to the provinces oldest resident to bestow some New Year’s gifts on Tuesday.
The small delegation was met by Krabi resident Pliew Petchpuang who was born in 1907 during the reign of King Rama V.
Kitti Intaraku from the office of Social Development and Human Security in Krabi was also in attendance said that his office had researched citizens in the kingdom that were over 100-years-old and found that she was the oldest.
The party was greeted by Pliew who is reported to be in good health and who is able to still get about on her own.
She said that her family are taking good care of her.
After receiving the gifts that the local authorities bestowed Pliew offered them some tips on how to live a long life telling them that her diet consists of mainly vegetables and chilli paste, that she avoids eating meat and always tries to remain active, doing as many things for herself as possible.
Pliew walked the governor back to his car at the end of their time together before he left to visit another resident that has also surpassed the 100-year milestone.
