If you’re in Samut Prakan you might want to be careful where you park your car as once driver found out yesterday after he returned to his car to find it damaged and covered in orange paint.
Police have arrested a man after he confessed to vandalizing the black Toyota saying that he covered it in paint and smashed the window out of anger because the owner had parked it in front of his house blocking his driveway, preventing him from driving his own car.
Police were notified of the incident which happened on Teparak Road in the Muang district at midday yesterday.
When they arrived the owner of the Toyota Pisai SAwannasai, 59, complained to the police about the treatment his car had received in his absence.
Pisai told officers he didn’t notice that he had blocked the houses entrance and said he had only been gone about 30 minutes. He said it was wrong for him to have blocked the entrance but this was a complete overreaction and he would not tolerate it making a complaint.
Kalaya Phetchnoi, 46, was a witness to the incident telling officers that she saw a man attempt to drive his car out of his house but couldn’t because of the Toyota.
She said the man looked for the owner of the car but when he couldn’t find him he looked angry and produced a baton and a tin of paint from his house which he used to vandalize the car.
Officers summoned the home owner to the police station who was later named as Khao Sangjan, 54, He handed himself into officers after he returned home from running errands which he had to do using a taxi bike.
He confessed to officers he damaged the car in anger and was charged with malicious damage.
