Not even being hit by a bus would keep one man from going to the pub at the weekend.
Simon Smith was walking along the pavement in Reading, Berkshire, when he was hit from behind by an out of control double decker bus and launched down the street in amongst debris from a damaged building.
The impact of the bus hitting Simon, 53, shattered the buses window.
CCTV of the incident shows Simon being propelled down the street before getting up dusting himself down and calmly strolling into a bar.
An ambulance was called and Mr Smith was taken to hospital to make sure he didn’t have any serious injuries.
Daniel Fraifeld, 50, co-owner of the Purple turtle bar, said “He got looked over and didn’t have any lasting injuries.” “He then got released from hospital and I think he just went for a pint to relax.”
The police closed the road for 2 hours while investigations were carried out and the debris from the accident was cleaned away.
No arrests have been made yet and the company owning the bus is conducting its own investigation.
