Superhero fans in Thailand both young and old will no doubt be rejoicing at the news that their favourite Marvel superheroes will be soon taking up permanent residence in the nation’s capital.
The Marvel Experience, a popular mobile interactive theme park touring in the USA will be coming to Bangkok permanently.
Hero Experience, the Thai company who have been granted the rights to open the park by Marvel announced on September 5 that “The Marvel Experience Thailand: Theme Entertainment Attraction” will open in mid-2018 in the Bang Na District.
Like any good superhero’s base of operations exact location is being kept confidential at the moment but is reported to be already 10% complete.
The Park will allow guests to become an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D and as such in the augmented reality section of the park you will be able to scale walls like Spider-man and Smash objects like the angry green giant the Hulk.
Noppadon Jirasan, a spokesman for the Hero Experience, said that the park will be “localised” to suit the Asian demographic.
They expect to receive over 1 million visitors to the park in the first three months of business and are currently liaising with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and other travel providers about promoting the new park.
No official announcement has been made over entry fees but it is expected to cost the same as in the US, which was $35 or (1150 baht).
It seems Spider-man is already here in Thailand as he was caught on CCTV coming to the aid of a motorcyclist who had been knocked off his bike into traffic earlier this week.
