One of the original members of the legendary “Pans People” has sadly passed away at the age of 70.
Ruth Pearson and the famous dance troupe, brought many happy moments for teenage boys on “Top of the Pops” during the 1970s.
Ruth along with colleagues Flick Colby, Babs Lord, Louise Clark, Dee Dee Wilde and Andi Rutherford began the famous act in 1966. They were regulars on the hit chart show from 1968 till the middle of 1976.
Four of the dancers have passed away over the years, including Flick, Louise, Andi and now Ruth.
Ruth was a former member of the Beat Girls, who danced on entertainment shows both in the UK and Holland.
Pan’s People were replaced by Legs & Co on “Top of the Pops” but the originals with Ruth were many people’s favourites.
The dancer died following a brave battle with cancer.
