Soldiers and police raided a bar in Pattaya in the early hours of Monday morning arresting the pubs owner and two members of staff.

They were arrested for reopening the business after it had been given a five-year closure order by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO.)

Inside the pub the members of the raid found roughly 100 people dancing and drinking, who they rounded up, and had their ages verified and asked them to perform a drugs test.

Of the 100 partygoers, 18 men and 4 women failed their drugs tests.

Officials found six bags of ketamine and 20 ecstasy tablets discarded on the ground presumably in an attempt to avoid detection.

The owner Piywat Lertjitras, 24, and his two staff were arrested and face charges of operating and selling alcohol without a licence, allowing the use of drugs on their property and violating the NCPO closure order.

It is not clear at this time what happened to those at the pub that failed the drugs tests.
