An elderly woman woke up to an unwanted visitor on Thursday morning when she found a three-meter-long python inside her home in the Suphan Muang District.
Thawee Pramarnpol, 72, who lives alone, discovered the large serpent in her living room at 8am and after opening her front door and ordering it to leave said that it retreated further into her home.
Realising that the snake was obviously not going to leave of its own free will she fled outside and called animal rescue for help.
Rescuers took 40 minutes to capture the snake which by that time had sadly eaten two of Thawee’s kittens.
She told the rescue workers she had woken up to go to the temple when she heard things being knocked over in her living room and when she opened her bedroom door there was the snake.
The python was taken away to be released into the wild.
