The happy union of Mr. Alister Bredee, 66, an Irish business man and Mr. Phumaret Sangtong, 31 from Thailand took place on Saturday, reported the Thai media.
Mr. Bredee had come to Thailand, 15 years back, runs a health and fitness business on Koh Samui, where he met Phumaret and have been together for the last 13 years.
Mr Bredee gifted a dowry of more than one million baht to Mr Phumaret’s family- 400,000 baht in cash, 10 baht weight in gold and a car, clarified Sanook.
In an interview with the Samui Times, Mr. Bedee said that though he is Icelandic, he was born in Sri Lanka, educated in the UK but calls Ireland home.
The couple will continue living on Koh Samui but plans to move to Nakhon Sawan when Mr Bredee retires.
