Utapao Internation Airport in Chonburi province will play host to Air Race 1 World Cup on 17th- 19th of November 2017.
Deputy Governor of Chonburi chaired a meeting of relevant officials to talk through organisation of the event and Thailand’s readiness as the host nation.
Thailand is the first Asian country to be selected to host the event which has been running for the past 70 years, which will also coincide with the ASEAN International Fleet Review which will also take place in November.
The event will see 16 teams competing for the title where each plane will have to complete 8-laps of a five-kilometre course in less than a minute.
Planes will have to travel at speeds of over 450kph making Air Race 1 the world’s fastest motor sport and sure to attract large crowds to the event.
