It was reportedly a chaotic scene on many roads across the nation’s capital as heavy rain once again brought flooding to the capital this morning (January 10).
Resulting in many small vehicles breaking down and long delays to many on their morning commute.
According to traffic police in Bangkok one of the worst affected roads was Soi Sukhumvit 62 which had waters as deep as 45 centimetres.
Vehicles were inundated with water leading to breakdowns and thus gridlock with even the Metropolitan Police Division 5 Chief himself out on the streets directing traffic in an effort to lessen the problem.
Officers were diverting vehicles onto the Bang Na expressway to avoid the flooded Sukhumvit 62 while authorities quickly scrambled to drain the flooded areas, two water pumps were put to use to remove the excess water on Sukhumvit 62.
