A group of 36 tourists, all from China were lucky to escape uninjured when a bus travelling from Phangnga province to Phuket burst into flames on Saturday afternoon.
The fire occurred when the bus arrived in Phuket on the Thepkrasattri road after the driver noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment and pulled the bus over to the side of the road to investigate.
It was at this point the driver realised the danger and ordered all of the passengers off of the bus.
All passengers were part of a Chinese tour group.
It was reported that all 36 of the buses passengers were able to safely get off of the bus before the fire spread and consumed the rest of the bus.
Fire crews were called and arrived at the scene at 7pm where they were able to extinguish the blaze but the bus was reportedly already damaged beyond repair.
