VIDEO: 'Postman' Robs Gold Shop of B70,000

SAMUT PRAKAN: A man in a Thailand Post uniform robbed a gold shop in Bang Phli district of gold necklaces worth 70,000 baht and fled in a Thailand Post van on Thursday.

The robbery at the recently opened Aurora Gold and Jewellery shop, in the Thai Watsadu hardware outlet on Theparat Road, was reported to police about 10am.

Gold shop employee Sirilak Roongrotesrisa-nga said the robber was wearing an orange-blue Thailand Post uniform, a full-face motorcycle helmet and black gloves. He placed a parcel with Thailand Post labels on a front showcase and shouted that it contained a bomb.

Then he drew a pistol, pointed it on her stomach and told her to grab some gold necklaces and put them into a plastic shopping bag.

In a state of shock, she put nine gold necklaces, worth about 70,000 baht in total, in the bag. The man then fled in a Thailand Post van.

Police said the van, a white-red Toyota with 1Thor Nor 150 licence plates registered in Bangkok, belonged to the Thailand Post branch behind Wat Nam Daeng in tambon Bang Kaeo of Bang Phli.
